Each month, ICBR honors one of its members in a special Member Spotlight. This month, we recognize Troyanne Libassi, CCIM; First Location, LLC. 

ICBR: Why are you an ICBR member? What do you look to gain out of your membership?  Troyanne

Libassi: I am an ICBR member because I value the opportunity to network with such a large group of commercial real estate practitioners. Being a member of ICBR shows a professional commitment and support for our industry.

ICBR: Describe a time you used an ICBR member benefit, and how it helped you or your company.

Libassi: The Continuing Education offered at the Annual Conference is a definite benefit.  The classes furnish information relevant to commercial brokers.  Another benefit is ICREX, the Indiana Commercial Real Estate Exchange.  These are effective tools when discussing marketing a property.

ICBR: What designations/awards/recognition have you received?

Libassi: I earned my CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation in 2000.  The education provided to secure this designation has proven invaluable especially helping to evaluate changes in the commercial market place.

ICBR: How did you start your career in commercial real estate/development?

Libassi: After several years in residential real estate, I saw new challenges and opportunities in commercial real estate.

ICBR: Do you have any mentors? If so, who? How has he/she inspired you?

Libassi: When I started in commercial real estate I was fortunate to work with Harold Heinold who had started a second career in commercial real estate.  Harold founded and owned Heinold Commodities and I developed a sense of business and finance from him.

ICBR: What is the most important thing you have learned by working in commercial real estate?

Libassi: One of the most important things I’ve learned from working in commercial real estate is communicating and setting expectations for clients.

ICBR: What is your current professional goal(s)?

Libassi: To stay current with changing market conditions and continue to provide a standard of service that meets the need of the clients I represent.

ICBR: What is your most recent accomplishment?

Libassi: In an area of redevelopment, a past client contacted me to pre-lease a class A office building.  This provides a sense of recognition that my past efforts have met a client’s expectations to a degree that they trust me to work with them on future projects.

ICBR: Do you have any special skills, interests or hobbies?

Libassi: I have been actively involved with Rebuilding Together of Southlake County for 15 years.  Serving on the Board of Directors, as a House Captain and participating in fund raising has been a very fulfilling experience.  In my leisure time I am an avid knitter.
